I was hoping this book was a singleton. I have too many series going. The first half annoyed me with how vague the author kept things, but as I kept reading I enjoyed the story. I would like to learn more about Attia, so I am hoping her story will come out in the sequal.

I don't think I ever read this before but I have a rating for it. I'm reading it with my 13 year-old son (he's competing in a reading competition in school). Very cool mystery with some aspects of horror. I was a little surprised at the huge chunk of the book that didn't feature Holmes at all. More importantly my son liked it a lot and is now very interested in the most recent show featuring a modern Holmes. Unfortunately we only have 3 episodes on Netflix and he's watched all those.
