What a cheesy book! The only reason I finished it was because it was short. I don't know how this became such a famous book. I will never read anything by this author again.
I now remember what I loved about Lowells books: intrestig characters, intruging story and witty dialogue. It was confusing at times trying to keep the family connections straight, fallowing all the information on dna and the land history of New Mexico, but it was necessary for the story. Although some of the subject matter is disturbing, it wasn't dwelled upon in detail. The most distubing thing is knowing that even tho this is a work of fiction, some families actually have some of the same secrets in real life.
