I liked how the book starts off, it just goes right into the story. Sometimes I wish more would happen, lacked substance or maybe stronger characters. I wish I felt more tension and some more details about the two courts. Hard to put it into words... I just wanted more! It's an okay read.

** spoiler alert ** "I want to see life. I want to hold it in my hands. I want to leave a footprint on the sand of a desert island. I want to play football with people. I want...I want everything." "...the world is a bigger place than a little graveyard on a hill; and there would be dangers in it and mysteries, new friends to make, old friends to rediscover, mistakes to be made and many paths to be walked before he would, finally, return to the graveyard or ride with the Lady on the broad back of her great grey stallion. But between now and then, there was life; and Bod walked into it with his eyes and his heart wide open."

Short stories set in the American west, reminds me of Cormac McCarthy but certainly not as bleak.
