First of all, I couldn't help but picture Valentina as looking like a latter-day Anna Nicole Smith with the personality of Kirstie Alley. Whew! That's quite a combo. The quirky title and some positive reviews made me really want to read this book, but I was sorely disappointed. Like Donald Capone, I found the parenthetical explanations to be very distracting and totally unnecessary. I didn't find any of it funny. One character was more pathetic than the next.
