I enjoyed this book by the end. At the beginning I was pretty hesitant to tackle the many issues that are immediately thrown on you in the book, belonging, death, family, adoption, assimilation, how americans are percieved in the greater context... but I ended up letting go of that and just reading the story. It was really interesting and I came away from it with a smile and a sense of hope.
