Good stuff. A slightly different take on time travel, and an interesting philosophical tilt to the narrative.
The mark of a good mystery thriller is how efficiently it presents its characters, the plot, and resolves the mystery. I enjoy Michael Connelly because he's the ultimate in efficiency. This story, only 225 pages, takes place over 12 hours, start to finish. A doctor with access to radioactive material is murdered, his wife tied up, and the signs all point to terrorists trying to steal radioactive material to be used in a national security breach. Connelly's favorite crusty detective, Harry Bosch, is trying to figure out the mystery while not losing the case to the Feds and does a pretty admirable job at both. Connelly used misdirection particularly well. My first Harry Bosch mystery, but I enjoyed it.
