This novel follows a prisoner of war, Billy, who witnesses the bombing of Dresden in World War II. You begin thinking this is a war novel and then suddently things take a very sci-fi twist. Billy Pilgram is "unstuck in time". He can travel between the moments in his life. Sometimes he's in the war, sometimes back as a married optometrist, and sometimes in a zoo on an alien planet. It's a bizarre story and you'd think with all the time traveling, it would be confusing, but it's not. The narrative flows very naturally. It's short, but great.
