time to write about the fifth agreement
The characters have sex at wildly inappropriate times, and world-building and character development are sacrificed for very lengthy sex scenes. However, it's fast-paced and a fun read. Our heroine is dogged, determined and clever. It's clear the author thought out certain aspects of world-building, even if she didn't show it all to us. I'll be looking for the next book in the series.
Okay, by far one of my favorite books of all time. Heartbreaking though! This book will make anyone wish they could claim Irish heritage. It tells the fictional story of a little Catholic boy in impoverished western Ireland who becomes leader of a rebellious anti-Ulster/Britain group (think IRA or Sinn Fein) and eventually leads a nation-wide revolt... wow, i just couldn't put it down. The deceit and backstabbing that goes on in the book echoes historically accurate events. read it!
Loved it! Flavia de Luce is such a precocious character, but not in an annoying way. Haven't read any other mysteries quite like it. Happy to see he has contracted to put Flavia in six books!!
