I enjoyed this book more for what it says about our past and current geopolitics than what it says about our future. Friedman discussed how the US rose to prominence by controlling the sea and discussed regional geopolitics before giving his future forecast in 20-year cycles. It's interesting reading and many of the scenarios sound plausible, but I think it's impossible to forecast so far into the future with any kind of accuracy.

It's funny reading books you thought you knew, but never really read...this one is one of those books. It was an assigned book for my 1st grader, and we enjoyed reading it together. Truly great classic tale.
