Absolutamente recomendable.

A great, coming-of-age story though I'm not sure if I would let someone the age this book is intended for actually read it. Language and rather adult-like situations would make me wary of letting a 13, 14, or 15 year old read it unless they were very mature. Though it does poignantly deal with situations facing today's teenagers, I'm not sure if they all needed to be explored. I enjoyed it though and would probably read the rest of the series if given half a chance.

I downloaded this online when I found myself stuck at work one day with menial work needing done and nothing to listen to in order to distract myself. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I knew the general gist of the story…it is nearly impossible to make it through childhood without having seen the movie at least once...but I didn’t recall any real like or dislike of it. The true highlight of the book is Carroll’s exquisite talent with prose. Even when the scenes are filled with complete gibberish, they somehow manage to still be fun and engaging. Through the Looking Glass started to lose my interest a bit, but it wrapped itself up long before I got truly antsy. I’m definitely adding this onto my list of books that I want to read aloud when we have kids some day.
