This is a long and difficult read. I would also recommend reading a primer on the history of the Subcontinent before you read this book. Nevertheless, this book is a fascinating book that details in the fantastical style in which only Rushdie can write the life of an unfortunate Indian man that is the victim of time, nation and upbringing.

I really loved this book. I only slightly suspected the killer for a brief moment. It was very enjoyable. I really loved the happy if not bumpy ending. :)
