I have no idea what to make of this book but I loved the ending even though it was a little bit predictable. I didn't care about the characters much, except maybe Eduard, but that's not what this book seemed to be about anyway. What I really don't get is why Paulo Coelho involved himself in the story, he's only mentioned briefly at the beginning and then in a whole chapter in which he explains why he wrote the book ... had nothing to do with the story for me.
