What a wonderful, and sad story! I can honestly admit that I don't know enough about history and that's why I struggled through part of this book. However, I think the author really wanted you to feel for these characters and feel what happened to them because of The Holocaust. This little girl is so inspiring and I hope there really was a Liesle during these times to see through all Hitlers words and see the truth. I really did love and appreciate this story, but it was not a happy summer read. This would have been a great winter break read for anyone looking for something thought provoking, passionate and moving.
