This is a book that I read for my book group's meeting next week. When it was proposed for the list at our meeting last month, I was able to support it because I had seen it mentioned on so many lists and had already been offered it for reading by a friend. The good thing is that although I had heard a lot of buzz about it, I didn't know much about the story except for the fact that it revolved around the life of architect Frank Lloyd Wright and a love affair he had. So despite all that, the book wasn't exactly moving along quickly for me because even though I have all this time on my hands, being home recovering from surgery, I was only reading it at night before bed. So this weekend with no other plans, I vowed to read more of this and essentially spent almost all of yesterday reading it and completed the entire thing including the reading group materials at the end of the book. Of course at one point during my reading yesterday, I looked online to see a photo of Taliesin, the famous home designed by Wright, and in reading about it, discovered a major part of the story. But, for me, it was okay that I knew how the story would end and it only urged me to keep going. This is a masterful piece of writing which is historical fiction and clearly this author has done some amazing research.

I am an avid Stephen King fan and this book didn't disappoint. I liked all the stories, but my favorite is The Body. For those of you who may not know, this story is the basis for the movie "Stand by Me."
