Yes, it is fast paced and the story is gripping, but other than that... It's nothing special, really. The characters are flat, and the plot isn't very original (a man finds a clue and is suddenly in the middle of an age-old mystery!!! OOOH!!!), not to mention how innacurate the historical "facts" get. Sure, the chapters are short and it makes you feel all smart with all the "history", but is that even a good thing? Overall, I think there are "readers", people who actually read books, and then you have the people who just read the Da Vinci Code.
this is a memoir written by a man who escaped the rat race in the 70's and bought a farm in New Mexico. He and his wife built an adobe house, a farm and a new life. The author is able to weave all of his ideas and observations very well into the mundane and ordinary and somehow transform them into something he really likes.
