Was torn on whether this deserved 4-5 stars. A great true mystery - as opposed to history, courtroom, procedural, cozy, etc. This book had more twists and turns that the Pacific Coast Highway where some of the book takes place. It had me surprised up until the last page. You didn't love any of the characters, but I think this is okay for this book. All humans are flawed and it is the plot that drives this book, not the characters. The one draw back was some of the book was written in script format as for a television play. I understand the intention, but don't think it added anything and actually disrupted the flow of the story. I am definitely looking forward to more of this author - think this would be a great movie.
