She is great writing for teens and to be honest this one felt like a teen book too. It was a way to pass a Sunday afternoon without thinking much but not a lot beyond that.

The soldiers of Halla was probably the best book in the series after, Raven rise. Everything that you know and did not know is explained. From the reason for being tavelers, to where saint dane gets his power, and what happened to all the dead travelers. A must read!
