Imogene is a girl after my own heart - she loves history and old things. She mounts a campaign to save the town's history before the oldest house in town is bulldozed to make way for a shoelace factory. After trying all kinds of things to get the town to take notice of the history they are about to lose, she only succeeds when she finds a document proving George Washington slept in the house, thereby giving it historical importance. I thought that was a cop-out. I wish Imogene could have gotten the town to care about its history without a Founding Father having to be involved.
