Umarım dizinin geri kalanı alır ve bizi Leg of the Force serisi gibi dizmeye çalışmaz.

The best genre fiction I've read in years.

I really enjoyed this book. It was refreshing to see an author exploring different writing mediums, such as emails, letters, online chatting etc- this definitely kept things interesting. Seeming the book was based solely on these correspondences (which could have been disastrous), I thought the story developed really well and to my surprise, wasn't lacking in depth. Cecilia Ahern has a real gift for conveying the 'voices' of her characters. Each one of her books I have read instantly drew me in, simply because the characters seem so real. They have major flaws, normal habits and come across as real people. At times the plot was frustrating because Rosie and Alex were kept apart by every imaginable reason. Some may think this made the storyling contrived and exaggerated, but I have to disagree. The point is, relationships often come across as being ridiculous and crazy when explained to outsiders. One thing I have learnt through personal experience is that relationships like this do exist in the world and it is amazing how many silly little things, such as basic miscommunication, can keep people apart. I really felt I could relate to the frustration of the characters. I don't think I could give this a 5 star rating simply because it lacked the *wow* factor. I think this is because the story was so believable that it just seemed like I was sitting around with my friends chatting. It wasn't anything revolutionary or particularly imaginative. Still, this was a REALLY good book and a delightful read.

This is the book the college at which I work chose for their summer reading last year. I read it because I was on the First Year committee. Not a bad book, though I found myself questioning how accurately portrayed the characters were. There is an afterword in which the author speaks about how he went about writing the book. For the observer out there, that in itself makes it worthwhile reading. It follows a boy from ghetto D.C. through college at Brown University. The challenges discussed (race, class, religion, family, education) struck a chord with this lower middle-class white girl.
