This book is an amazing reference for any woman to have on the shelf. I pick it up every so often to explore a certain topic (i.e., "breasts"!) or because I have a question or concern, and always end up reading way more than I expected. What I love is Dr. Northrup's philosophy that the mind and body are connected, and every explanation delves much deeper than just the physical. It really makes me start thinking about the reasons I feel the way I do about "female" issues - like how society affects my thoughts on fertility, and how my fertility defines my self-image. It treats all stages of a woman's life and health as important and sacred parts of a continuum, which makes me feel that I will be reading this book for years to come. I used to read this book for answers regarding my period and cramps. Then I read the sections on pregnancy and birthing when I was pregnant with my son. Now I'm re-reading the fertility sections since I'm considering having another baby. I love how this book makes me think.
