Well written medical/techno thriller, set in London. Plenty of twists in the plot kept me engaged.
This book was recommended to me by Bridget who read on one Stephanie Meyer's blog. I thought it was pretty cute. I would have liked it A LOT if I was in about 4th grade, but unlike books like The Goose Girl, it lost some of it's luster for my adult eyes. (This is why it only got 4 stars) Maybe because the whole time I was reading it, I was hearing my mom's voice reading it aloud to her 4th grade class. It's about a girl who discovers she can fly and what happens to her after they take her away to a special school for the gifted. A little bit suspenseful, a little bit exciting, a little bit predictable, and some feel-good parts too. And, as a warning to Claire: the author uses the phrase "just desserts," that's right... two 's's, and no pun intended.
I rated this 3 stars only because I don't think I'm smart enough to "get" it all. But it's a beautiful, haunting short novel in verse. Something completely different.
