I enjoyed it, but at times I found myself wishing it were fiction so that the awful people wouls be assured a justly awful end. It is fascinating that it is true, but heartbreaking at the same time. My honest reaction was that I wanted to slap her mother and shoot her father.

Tolkein is a wonderful writer. This series was a page turner even if fantasy is not your thing. It did not feel like a typical fantasy. The story line is so tremendous you forget you are reading about mythical creatures. I liked the depth of the story.
