A fast read attempting to balance the affect of Walmart on American communities and global economies. Althougth the author does elicit the contributions of the supercenter in early chapters, his bias towards the negative consequences of an unchecked monopsony sneaks out, particularly in later chapters. A good read to remind us from where, in what manner, and at what price we are able to purchase a gallon of pickles for $2.97 or a pound of salmon for $4.84.
