The first book for the BBBC, and this had a lot of great themes to discuss - family ties, immigrant life, redemption, friendship, traditions. It also showed how strong a sense of duty and honor can be to a person. In light of all that is going on in Afghanistan and Iraq, it was interesting to read about the "before" and come to a better understanding of how life is in that region of the world. Some points of the book were shocking and perhaps overly graphic, but this drove home the daily life of the people of Afghanistan and all the turmoil the country is going through. I was a little disappointed in the ending, but only because I wanted more resolution for the characters, but this book was a quick read. It was especially interesting to read about such "hot topics" from a different perspective.
Suspenseful intrigue in a "sting"-themed story of industrial espionage.
