Having spent a good amount of time in Biloxi, MS and New Orleans post-Katrina, and only just started this book, I find myself constantly flashing back to inhabit again that world of despairing post-industrial collapse. Then again, that happens anyways. Whatever - totally brings back up in a completely haunting way much of what was (and is) going on down there - except maybe for the cannibalism - so much so that I have to put it down.. a LOT. Maybe that's why I'm getting through it so slowly... oh and, dead bodies smell sickly-sweet. not sour. checka checka.
