I've read this book twice- first as part of my English class in Junior High, and again in my early 20's because I enjoyed it so much. Definitely something I plan on encouraging children to read when they get old enough.
It is such a shame that the government just concentrated on the all-seater stadia and ignored the bits about football club chairmen holding the fans in contempt and treating us like cattle. Lord Justice Taylor's dismissal of football fans worries about massive price hikes shows that the fans were right and he was naive: my own ticket went up about 160% following the abolition of standing areas at our football grounds.
It took me a little while to get into this I think, because of the language but once I got the hang of it, I loved the story!
