This is my favorite work of nonfiction of the last few years.

Read this in my 9th grade Honors English class! It made an impression on me, but I didn't do very well in the class. LOL!

I loved this book because it articulated intellectually many ideas that I agreed with that I was never able to explain myself when participating or observing a discussion dealing with race. The book offers very straight forward and logical explanations and arguments on ideologies circulating the race dialogue. Every explanation is very balanced with both pros and cons, and they are presented as incomplete points of view, rather than incorrect. Although his idea of mutual responsibility isn't new, his explanation is fresh and intriguing.
