Like a lot of King's work, the book is based on a brilliant idea and it hooks you at page one. Also like a lot of King's work, though, it deteriorates about half-way through. And - I know you're Stephen King and all - but sheesh, get an editor. There is so much excess crap in his writing. I believe my fiction professor used to call it "diarrhea of the pen."
