This book is beyond crazy. So much happens, there are so many wacky characters and so much of it is based on allusions to the political climate of the day. I think I would have to read it 50 times to understand it. Bulgakov was a mad genius and a daring writer. I know I wouldn't this book if I was living under the Stalinist regime.
