Excellent book. Powerful. I have much respect for Malcolm X as result of reading it. And it helped put Huey Newton's biography in perspective.

It was a cute story, and I loved the history that came along with it, but the ending was quick, unelaborated, and left me wanting more. When i finished, I got an overwhelming sense of "that's it?"

It is not what I was expecting the second book in this series to be. There is a "what the what!" moment about halfway through that made my eyes wide with surprise. Don't skip ahead to it. Read the story so that you'll also be lulled into thinking something is going to happen that never does! Even though it wasn't the story I was expecting, it kept me enthralled from cover to cover. If you like the Hunger Games, you have to read the rest of the series.
