Nora Grey is an intelligent and independent girl, who has no room in her busy schedule to even think about boys. That is until she meets Patch Cipriano. Patch is mysterious, handsome, and he seems to know right away exactly what to say to her that gets under her skin. She knows that he's trouble, but she just can't seem to stay away. But terrifying things begin to happen to her. She constantly sees the shadow of someone following her, and it makes her uneasy. All of her instincts lead to Patch, and she begins to wonder whether she can actually trust him. As she looks for more answers, she finds something more unsettling than she could have ever imagined. This book is remarkably well written. Fitzpatrick gives you as little information as possible throughout the book to keep you hooked and constantly guessing. Her characters are very personable, and you could easily see them being real people. Nora and her friends like to go out, have fun, and are interested in some of the same things that teens are interested in today. The supernatural theme that this book portrays is undoubtedly interesting, and it involves something not frequently written about. The many twists and turns in the plot throughout the novel keeps the readers engrossed and drawn into finding out the secrets of the mysterious Patch.
