Really interesting. This is the first time I've thought about this topic, and Jared Diamond (and his supporters) make it seem that he is the first to express these ideas. In fact, Diamond's analysis of cultural evolution has been studied and discussed for decades... examples: William H. McNeill and Alfred Crosby. That being said, the book is clearly written, easy enough for the non-scientist, but still engaging for a scientist. Although, once you understand the main premise, it gets a little repetitive after a while.

Sadly, this was disappointing.
