Gijs Derkzen Derkzen itibaren San Emigdio, El Salvador
In the last couple of pages, this book went from a solid two star book to a three star. Less in the mode of what would be called Magical Realism if Murakami was a Latin American, this book returns to the nostalgia and sentimentality as he had done in Norwegian Wood. An interesting mediation on longing and missed chances, with for me most of the apposite wisdom and insights compressed into the last few pages.
