I loved this book. I enjoyed the movie as well. Everyone needs someone in their lives. Friendship really doesn't have an age or gender.

I love Cousteau, and this book positively rocks. It's filled with the story of how Cousteau got and outfitted his lovely ship the Calypso, all the adventures he and his crew had with the ship, and the real prize is an extensive pull-out section with detailed cross section plans and elevations of the ship. Clearly Wes Anderson read this book before designing the Life Aquatic set!

This seemed like a darker version of the typical David Sedaris novel. I really liked it, but not nearly as much as his other novels.
