Milo's mother died from cancer a few years ago, and his life hasn't been the same. He tries to bury his pain like the rest of his family has - using humor to cover it up. But the fog of his loss keeps creeping back up. Despite being about a very serious subject, this book manages to deal with a child experiencing the death of a parent in a way that is both touching and light-hearted. Milo is a loveable character with lots of antics and quirky friends. His friends help him to learn how to work through the death of his mother. But it's not a serious and depressing book. There's lots of fun little cartoons throughout, which could help this appeal to Wimpy Kid fans
