I really enjoyed this book. I was able to learn a lot about what the Chinese went through during the 30's and 40's in America. The only reason I didn't give it 4 stars was because gave "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan 4 and I enjoyed that book a little more. Good read.

so fun. of course, it's even more fun to read right before going to Savannah or while there.

This book was way too strict. I intended to eat well during pregnancy, but the fact is, you get sick, stuff happens...you do what you can. In an ideal world teh book might be helpful, but in actuality I think it is more likely to make pregnant women feel guilty for not being perfect.
