Bu kitap herkesin olacağını söylediği kadar iyi değildi. temelde küçük çocuklar için yazılmış kısa bir hikaye / eski halk hikayesidir !!!!! bazı insanlardan duyduğum kadarıyla, insanlara yaşama ya da başka yaşam değiştiren deneyimlere farklı bir bakış açısı getirecek bu harika roman olacağını düşünmüştüm !!!! ne yazık ki bu olmadı, sadece basit bir kısa öyküdü, iyi bir okuma oldu, çok hayal kırıklığına uğradım çünkü çok daha iyi olduğu söylendi !!!!!!!

Bu kitabı sevdi ve kapitone grubunun bir parçası olmayı çok isterdi. Bu kitap gerçekten o dönemin kapitone arısının dinamiklerini ele geçirdi. Sandra Dallas'ı seviyorum!

Bu kitabın harika olduğunu düşündüm. Yarısını yurtdışında Jerry Falwell'in Liberty Üniversitesi'nde yapmaya karar veren bir üniversite öğrencisinin gerçek hikayesi. This long time fan of both Faye Kellerman and her husband Jonathan is over the top thrilled to have read yet another Decker/Lazarus novel. Peter is always the epitome of honor and strength, and when he feels the world bearing down on him, his beautiful wife Rina is there to support, encourage, and keep him humble. Your heart totally goes out to young Gabe, because no matter how smart or talented he is, no child deserves what he has gone through. Peter’s age may be catching up with him, but he and Rina are a team through thick and thin, taking on way more than their share in any crisis, and you will love them more with each and every novel. Excellent! A very sweet book with some interesting history about world war II and the German occupation. Also about people who love to read (who doesn't love that??) and the love of one specific community. I would recommend this to everyone! Very easy and quick read and really enjoyable!

This book disappointed after rereading it from many years prior. I'm a Percy fan, having reading all his novels and many essays, but suddenly this book seems dated. While the structure seems clumsy, Percy still handles the basic questions of who we are are and how we fit in society better than most. A Catholic convert, he has a critical yet sympathetic way of challenging the faith in a way that would make most Christians squirm. In short, he takes on the tough questions and is resolved to not understanding he answers.

There were a number of individual poems that spoke to me loudly. I re-read the lines and soaked in the imagery. I felt them in my bones. More importantly, though, as a volume of poetry, I also felt a progression and structure that also carried meaning. Each section has a theme to it--and the thematic progression was very organic, though not neccesarily what I would have "expected". I loved her focus on aging as a woman and also the meditations on her father.

A lot of Vonnegut's complaints here--how our society is "addicted" to oil, how politics is corrupting--feel stale and well-worn. But then again, they're still every bit as true as they were 40 years ago when Vonnegut started writing about them, so maybe there's something sad about how little this recent restatement moved me.
