I hate to give this book a poor rating because it doesn't show truth to Cleave's great writting style. For me this rating more or less shows my distaste in the content. The material was just too distrubing for me in many many ways. The horrific scenes and tragedies is one thing - but the lack of self respect from the narrators perspective is another. Just won't be sharing this book with my book club ladies..

It was hard to get through. Not an easy read. I wouldn't wish this on any of my enemies.
