The former Toronto Star columnist has done it again. I have now read his last 5 books and they seem to be getting better and better.By the way; he is far better known and successful in the UK & Germany than over here. It won't continue like that though if he keeps writing stories as good as this.I actually rate this book as a 3.5 stars. Most of his novels are about suburban families having to deal with tragedy. In the Accident he also brings in most of the problems that the average person has to deal with today. The downturn in the economy, the sub-prime mortgage problem, unemployment, the growing use of counterfeit name brand products ( purses ) and phamaceuticals and he even touches on the Ponzi scheme scams; are all intricate parts of the storyline. This is a compelling thriller of the first order.His character development is excellent. The book races along at an incredibly fast pace. You have to reluctantly put it down for a minute to catch your breath. No one will see the riveting climax coming. His fans will not be disappointed by this novel. If you haven't read him yet, do yourself a favour and go out and get one of his books.
