Oh, man. This was SUCH a pleasure to read. There was so much despair in Oblivion, but this was DFW at his peak, I think--full of psychotic fascination. Which is not to say that there was NO despair in this collection, only that it was really really really nice to get a glimpse of his mind at least relatively sans (or if not sans, at least able to play with) the shit that killed him.
