During the summer of 2011, the book I’ve read is Fade by Lisa McMann. This book is about a girl named Jamie Hannagan, who has the ability to go into other people’s dream, and Cable Strumheller, her boyfriend are both undercover trying to solve a mystery case that has happened in school. This case involves a teacher having sexual relation with students. The student, who was violated, called into crime buster underground where she reports this case, without giving much information. Cable, who is afraid of Jamie being hurt and harmed, doesn’t want her to participate. On the other hand, Jamie was so desired to help solve the case with her ability. Because of their different opinions they have problems in their relationship. Jamie is seeing lots of inappropriate things in the dreams she gets sucked into, but it’s helping her to solve the case. “Anything that happened as a result of you being drugged against your will is not your fault. Right? You know your stuff. And you know that. And whoever did anything to you will go to jail, okay? Not your fault. Don’t turn soft on me, Jamie. You’re a strong women. The world needs more like you.” This passage is telling me that Jamie got into a situation where she didn’t expect things to turn out the way she didn't want, and is feeling down. This is also showing me that she is getting support from a friend of hers. The theme of this book is always staying strong, even if that happen in your life makes you weak. I think that staying strong in life is hard sometimes, because there are always unexpected situation happening, and can make you fall down. The event that happened to Jamie made her feel uncomfortable, and she had to say it out loud, in order to end the case, and she did. I think she was brave in the story; she was in a situation where things weren’t okay for her, but she overcomes it. She was standing up on her weak points and continues on. I know sometimes it’s also hard to just forget the unpleasant, but you can think of it as a growth in your life and you’re learning from your falls. Being able to face the breaks in your life is what it means to be strong. This is a book I would recommend to others.

Still working on it . . . ask me when I'm done.

I'm thinking Dead Kennedy is one of my favorite literary characters of all time. Don't grab his jacket.

Terrible. He should have saved a bit of money from the road signs on the side of the highway and hired a grade 12 kid to edit it, would have been marginally more readable.
