New Gabaldon book, yay!
Excellent memoir (coming of age in Iran during the Islamic Revolution) - girl with a lot of character brings her own twist to each situation, no matter how tragic.
I am only on page 2 but the quality of the writing is so superior to the book I was reading before. Concise, elegant and gripping. I can't wait. This will be the best book that I will read in 2011. It just doesn't get better than Ann Patchett. I love everything she writes, especially Bel Canto and now this one. I don't even know how to describe why I love it so much. The pacing, the narrative that gives you pause to think, the unpredictability. The cleanness of the writing. The insight into character. The intelligence of the story. I wonder if men would like it as much? Next up is Doc or The Informant, both waiting for me at the library. I feel like I have been to the Amazon and back, funny Trish is going in a few weeks.
