It was just as charming the second time around - I love the way Joyce alters his narrative structure to reflect the age of Stephen. I love the lyrical sense of a young writer's struggles to be independent of his family, church, and state. The entire thing is brilliant.

I enjoyed this book. It's funny. It is clock and dagger stuff but it doesn't take itself too seriously. If you get British humor and understand British slang, you'll find this book fun too.
