This book was wonderful. It is the story of two incredibly brave women during the time of The Plague. The Plague comes to a small town that chooses to cut itself off in the hopes of not allowing the disease to spread to other towns. What follows is fear, desperation, sadness, loyalty, and hope. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical fiction. Geraldine Brooks is an excellent writer and is able to weave a beautifully sad and ultimately hopeful tale.
