The analytical part of me loved this book. The facts and nothing but the facts. However, the reader in me thought "meh" at best. The format removes any characterization, any real narrative, and any sense of danger (after all, dead men tell no tales). I had picked up print versions on at least two previous occasions and ended up giving up rather quickly. This time I got the unabridged audiobook and that worked like a charm. I definitely recommend it just for the excellent voice work that gives some humanity to the facts.

When a sports editor for his school newspaper notices a newcomer to the football team showing lots of talent but getting no playing time he begins to investigate. He does a great job of finding answers but ends up with a moral dilemna. Does he publish his findings or not? Deuker knows his football and includes lots of play-action in this book which will make it perfect for guys but girls will like it as well. Once you start this book, you won't want to put it down.

I saw the movie first, found the story compelling and had to read the book. It's a beautiful reflection on mercy and morality.

This is a good, inventive series. But they keep killing off characters I like. At this rate, no one will be left!

The story was very interesting but I didnt find it one bit funny. Maybe it was the language that made me not like the comedy but the story was still interesting.
