a lot of people think he's pretentious, but i love david foster wallace. this is one of my favorites.
This was my first John Green novel I ever read and I had high expectations for it. Thoughts: 1. I really liked the beginning and really liked the end. Those portions of the book really had my adrenaline going and my attention. 2. The middle seemed to drag on and I struggled to carry on. Mostly because of Q's obsession to find a girl, he barely knew, but thought he knew, who didn't want to be found. I found it rather annoying. 3. I thought Q's friends Ben and Radar were great. 4. This was definitely a thought-provoking book and I thought ideas were presented well. 5. John Green is an amazing writer. I really admire his use of language and tie-in with themes throughout the book. Even though the plot and its progression didn't really blow me away, John Green's writing did and I will definitely check out his other available works.
Very disappointed after such good reviews.
I have found that I like reading novels about vampires more than most books. Interview with the Vampire was a great book. It didn't get boring at any point. I enjoyed every second of the book.
