This isn't the most interesting true crime I've read, but what *was* interesting was reading about all of the husband's odd behavior leading up to his wife's disappearance.

Great collection of short stories. A real change after reading his Mars Trilogy.

I joined a group on Goodreads that had this as one of the selections for April. I've since been removed from the group, but I had already requested this book on PBS. So I decided to go ahead and read it. Lots of fun. Nicki Styx is a woman that knows her own mind and has no problem speaking it when necessary. She doesn't take crap and does what she wants. Then she dies for a few minutes and life is never going to be the same again. When Nicki sees an older lady enter her hospital room, she doesn't think much about it, until she realizes that she is the only one who can see her. The trouble for Nicki has only begun. A fellow shop owner and friend is murdered on the shop's sidewalk and the friend's ghost asks Nicki for help. Unfortunately, the dead friend is a voodoo priestess and she isn't the patient sort. Add in a gay best friend, a gorgeous doctor and other assorted characters and you have a fun and entertaining way to spend a couple of hours. I'm definitely go to keep watch for the next in this series.
