My parents used to watch Miss Marple mysteries on TV, and I never found them even remotely interesting. They always seemed dry, dull, and relentlessly boring. So I was not thrilled to be assigned the first Miss Marple mystery for my Detective Fiction course. I sucked it up and checked it out... and found myself completely drawn in. The writing is excellent, the pace is good, the mystery (as always with Christie) is fascinating, and the characters were all interesting. An excellent example of the British cozy, and certainly not the dull, dry book I was expecting.
