Fantastic escape. Over too quickly.

Another magical book but so cute. I think overall of the book is fab. I will read her books. She already wrote third book! Can't wait to read the book. A recommendation for people who like cutesty, light sense of humour, and magical. Oh yeah, the book has some reality issues such as abusive relationship, a bad relationship between mother and daughter, cheating, affairs, etc.. if you don't mind those issuses then go ahead read this book. :)

Really eerie, chilling, and sometimes downright disturbing, but also an enthralling story. Landscapes seem to always play important roles in Proulux's books, and I really appreciate that. This book made me think about Eastern Canada as some bewitching northern land, where the rules of nature aren't quite the same and where people can undergoe radical transformations. Thanks to my roommate Madelyn for recommending it! (And whoa, we happened to be in a bookstore in Toronto when I bought it. That just occurred to me.)

I was supposed to read this going into freshman year of high school... HAHAHA. Finally read it sophomore year of COLLEGE. In my opinion, book>movie (sorry, Kubrick fans).
