I don't think I've ever, EVER said this before, but the TV show was much, MUCH better. The book was OK, but not great. I'm not sorry I read it, and I knew going in that it was not the same as the series. I liked the book, but the writers of the series added greater depth, mystery, and parallel story lines... so reading the book after seeing the TV series felt a little flat. I think I would have enjoyed the book more had I read it first. *Always* read the book first! :)
